All our North Charleston food lists in one place: wings, pizza, Mexican, breakfast and coffee, burgers, Asian, desserts, bakeries and patios.
Last checked Oct. 12, 2026. Refreshed every three months.
North Charleston’s independent restaurants cluster in Park Circle, along East Montague Avenue and nearby Spruill and Reynolds avenues. The chains and big sit-down restaurants line Rivers Avenue, Dorchester Road, Ashley Phosphate Road and the Centre Pointe area by Tanger Outlets. Our lists below cover each kind of food in turn.
How we made these lists. Each list starts from OpenStreetMap records inside North Charleston’s city limits, the same data behind our local directory, with places added from the state’s SC Food Grades inspection records and Visit North Charleston’s dining listings. Every place was checked against its own website, and the hours on each list are the ones the place publishes. The lists are alphabetical. They are not rankings or recommendations, and nobody paid to be on them. Run a restaurant that belongs on a list? Write to us.
The lists
Where to get wings. Wings are mostly a pub and pizza-shop item here. The list covers the Park Circle bars that serve them, Hooters by Northwoods Mall and the pizza chains that sell wings beside their pies.
Where to get pizza. Three independent pizzerias share one block of East Montague Avenue in Park Circle, with wood-fired, New York-style and Pittsburgh-style pies elsewhere in the city and the chain stores on the main corridors.
Mexican and Tex-Mex restaurants. Sit-down Mexican and a taco and tequila bar in Park Circle, a taco restaurant on Rivers Avenue, and the burrito and taco chains.
Breakfast and coffee. Park Circle cafes, a grits restaurant, a Navy Yard coffee roaster, chicken and waffles, the Starbucks stores and the 24-hour diners.
Where to get burgers. Burger bars in Park Circle, a game-meat burger joint near Tanger Outlets, a smash-burger restaurant off Dorchester Road and the chains.
Sushi and Asian restaurants. Thai, Chinese American, Vietnamese, Korean barbecue and a hibachi and sushi buffet, spread from Park Circle to Rivers Avenue and West Montague Avenue.
Ice cream and desserts. Ice cream shops on Rivers Avenue and Dorchester Road, a candy and praline shop at Tanger Outlets and the Park Circle bakers.
Bakeries. Bread, pastries, cookies and cakes from the bakeries in and near Park Circle, plus a bakery-cafe chain on Ashley Phosphate Road.
Patios and outdoor dining. Places whose own pages say they have a patio or outdoor seating, from West Montague Avenue to Tanger Outlets.
We have not yet published a barbecue list: too few North Charleston barbecue restaurants have websites we could check. It will be added when it can be complete.
