North Charleston’s Mexican restaurants with their own websites sit in two places: Park Circle, where Azul Mexicano is on East Montague Avenue and Rebel Taqueria is on Reynolds Avenue, and the shopping corridors along Rivers Avenue, Centre Pointe Drive and Dorchester Road, where Tiki Taco and the chain restaurants are.
How we made this list. The places come from OpenStreetMap records inside North Charleston’s city limits, the same data behind our local directory, checked against each place’s own website on Oct. 12, 2026. We added places we found in the state’s SC Food Grades inspection records and Visit North Charleston’s dining listings, and kept them only where the restaurant’s own site or chain location page gave a North Charleston address. The inspection records show many more taquerias, food trucks and Latin American kitchens in the city, especially on Remount Road, Rivers Avenue and Dorchester Road; most have no website of their own, so they are not listed here. Azul Mexicano’s phone number is from Visit North Charleston’s listing, as its own site does not show one. Two candidates were left out: Chido Taco’s site would not show its details, and Sissy Bar is a cocktail bar whose menu we could not read. The list is alphabetical. The places
Azul Mexicano is a Mexican restaurant on East Montague Avenue in Park Circle, with a second Azul on James Island. Its menu lists fajitas, nachos, taquitos and several kinds of tacos, including street, fish and shrimp tacos, and it runs drink and happy hour specials.
Chipotle has three North Charleston restaurants: Centre Pointe Drive near Tanger Outlets, Rivers Avenue and Dorchester Road. The chain builds burritos, bowls and tacos to order, and its location pages offer online ordering for pickup and delivery.
Moe’s Southwest Grill has two North Charleston restaurants, on Centre Pointe Drive and on Rivers Avenue. Its pages list burritos, quesadillas and tacos made from more than 20 fresh ingredients, with free chips and salsa and vegetarian and kids’ options.
Rebel Taqueria began as a Taco Tuesday pop-up in 2011 and is now a restaurant and bar on Reynolds Avenue. Its site says the menu draws on traditional Mexican cooking, street food and Southern staples, and the bar carries tequilas, mezcals and local beers. It hosts live music, trivia and football viewing, and serves a Sunday brunch.
Taco Bell has four North Charleston stores. The hours above are each store’s drive-thru hours; the Dorchester Road store at No. 6606 lists the latest.
Tiki Taco Rivers is a taco restaurant on Rivers Avenue. Its site says the owners have run restaurants for more than 25 years, and it offers dine-in, carryout and a daily happy hour from 4 to 7 p.m.
