How we made this list. The places come from OpenStreetMap records inside North Charleston’s city limits, the same data behind our local directory, checked against each place’s own website on Oct. 12, 2026. We added places we found in the state’s SC Food Grades inspection records and Visit North Charleston’s dining listings where the bakery’s own site gave a North Charleston address. Panera Bread’s store page would not load for us; its September 2026 state inspection record confirms it is open, and its phone number is from OpenStreetMap. Panera’s other two North Charleston stores, Nothing Bundt Cakes and the Latin American bakeries on Remount and Dorchester roads have inspection records but no page we could read, so they are not listed yet. Dunkin’ and the coffee shops are on our breakfast and coffee list. The list is alphabetical. It is not a ranking or a recommendation, and nobody paid to be on it. Run one of these places? The places
Cakette Bakeshop began as a home kitchen project and grew through pop-ups into a Park Circle shop, its site says. It bakes small-batch goods that change with the seasons, four mornings a week, and sells coffee and goods made by women artists.
Daddy’s Girls Bakery on Reynolds Avenue was started by Nate and Chasity and lists Charleston Chewies and a banana pudding cake among its desserts. It takes orders by phone and lists seasonal ordering, such as Thanksgiving, on its site.
EVO Craft Bakery shares an address with EVO Pizzeria on East Montague Avenue. Its menu lists cookies, croissants, scones, blondies, brownies, cupcakes, coffee cake and sweet breads, with cinnamon rolls Friday to Sunday, and it takes large orders with 48 hours’ notice.
Panera Bread is the bakery-cafe chain’s store on Ashley Phosphate Road, in the same center as MOD Pizza.
