Where it is
Wescott lies along Dorchester Road and Wescott Boulevard, around the Wescott Golf Club and Wescott Park, which OpenStreetMap maps at its center. The plan names Wescott Boulevard among the few commercial nodes on this stretch of Dorchester Road. We used a circle of 0.6 mile around the golf course and the park. Of the 177 points we checked, 95% were inside North Charleston’s city limits on the Census Bureau’s current boundary; all were in Dorchester County. Inside the city, 96% were in ZIP code 29485 and the rest in 29420.
Zillow and many listings file ZIP code 29485 under Summerville, so check the city line: it decides who collects your trash and which property tax rate applies. Dorchester County bills its own property tax; look a parcel up through Dorchester County’s website before you buy.
The city’s neighborhood presidents list has entries for Wescott Plantation, which meets at the Wescott ballpark meeting room, and for Sandpines at Wescott Plantation, The Courtyards at Wescott Plantation and The Farm at Wescott.
