Black Friday is Friday, Nov. 27, 2026. Northwoods Mall, North Charleston’s enclosed mall, is closed on Thanksgiving and opens at 7 a.m. on Black Friday. Tanger Outlets Charleston had not posted its 2026 holiday hours when we checked. Small Business Saturday follows on Nov. 28, and the city’s densest strip of independent shops is in Park Circle.

The mall’s regular hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. Its posted holiday hours for 2026:

Tanger Outlets Charleston

Tanger lists its North Charleston center at 4840 Tanger Outlet Blvd., next to the Centre Pointe shopping area. Its center page had not published 2026 holiday hours when we checked. For comparison, its posted 2025 hours were:

  • Thanksgiving Day 2025: closed
  • Black Friday 2025: 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Christmas Eve 2025: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Christmas Day 2025: closed
  • New Year’s Eve 2025: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Small Business Saturday, Nov. 28

Park Circle’s shops sit within a few blocks of the traffic circle, most of them on East Montague Avenue in the Olde Village and on Spruill Avenue. Visit North Charleston’s Park Circle listing includes:

  • Itinerant Literate Bookstop, 4824 Chateau Ave., a bookstore
  • Black Octopus Mercantile, 1061 E. Montague Ave.
  • Neighborly Park Circle, 1042 E. Montague Ave., which says it stocks work by Charleston makers and regional brands
  • Gray Cat Music, 1021 E. Montague Ave.
  • Roadside Blooms, 4491 Durant Ave., a flower shop
  • Odd Duck Market, 1082 E. Montague Ave., a cafe and market of local goods, open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily

Hours vary by shop, and many independent stores post their Small Business Saturday hours only in the week of Thanksgiving.

Holiday markets

  • The Big Bark Holiday Market, noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, at Firefly Distillery, 4201 Spruill Ave. Admission is free, with vendors, food trucks and live music, and the market benefits local animal rescues and shelters including Dusty Tails and Pet Helpers. Outside food, drinks and coolers are not allowed.
  • Christmas Festival and Parade, Saturday, Dec. 5, at Park Circle, with food and vendors; details are on our Christmas parade and tree lighting page.
  • Holiday Festival of Lights gift shops. Santa’s Attic and the other shops at James Island County Park are open during festival hours, 5:30 to 10 p.m. nightly from Nov. 13, the festival FAQ says.

Parking and traffic

The North Charleston Police Department and the city had not posted holiday traffic plans for the Northwoods Boulevard or Tanger Outlet Boulevard areas when we checked. Road work and closures are on our road construction page.
