Veterans Day is Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2026. The City of North Charleston holds an annual tribute to veterans, but as of Oct. 24 it had not posted the 2026 date, time or speaker. Its Veterans Day page still shows the 2025 tribute. This page will carry the 2026 details when the city posts them.

Is the city’s tribute on this year?

The city has held it every year, and nothing on its site says otherwise, but the 2026 details are not out. Here is what the city’s page says about the 2025 tribute:

  • It ran 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2025, at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center, 5001 Coliseum Drive.
  • Mayor Reggie Burgess and City Council hosted it, and the keynote speaker was author Tara McClary Reeves.
  • The city says more than 500 veterans are honored each year. Every veteran who attends is recognized and receives a custom commemorative coin.
  • The city asked people to RSVP by Oct. 31 through an Eventbrite link on the page.

The city also says the U.S. Department of Defense and the Veterans Day National Committee named North Charleston a Regional Site for Veterans Day for 2025, the 15th year in a row, and that it is the only such site in South Carolina.

If the 2026 tribute follows the same pattern, an RSVP link would go up on the city’s page first. We will update this page when it does.

  • Coastal Carolina Fair, Friday, Oct. 30, and Friday, Nov. 6. The fair’s Military and First Responders Appreciation Days admit active-duty, retired and reserve service members and veterans free with one guest, along with first responders and 911 dispatchers from Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester counties. Valid ID is required. Gates open at 3 p.m. both days at Exchange Park, 9850 Highway 78, in Ladson, about six miles northwest. More in our Coastal Carolina Fair guide.
  • Stingrays Jets and Vets night, Friday, Nov. 6. The South Carolina Stingrays play the Orlando Solar Bears at 7:05 p.m. at the North Charleston Coliseum on a Jets and Vets theme night presented by Charleston Southern University. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the Coliseum charges $10 for parking.

  • Trash: the city’s 2026 holiday schedule has no garbage collection Wednesday, Nov. 11, and garbage and trash run one day late for the rest of the week. Charleston County recycling is not delayed. Details are on our trash and recycling page.

In 2025 the city’s page did not mention parking; the Coliseum and Performing Arts Center charges $10 to park for its own ticketed events.
