The city of North Charleston does not run schools. Homes in the Charleston County part of the city, most of it, are served by Charleston County School District (CCSD), 843-937-6300. Homes in the Dorchester County part, including Coosaw Creek and Wescott, are served by Dorchester School District Two, 843-873-2901. A small part of the city is in Berkeley County, served by the Berkeley County School District.
School zones do not follow the city limits. Each district draws its own elementary, middle and high school zones, and several schools that serve city addresses sit outside the city, while some schools inside it take students from across the county by application.
